Title I Program
Bennett's Mill Middle School is a Title I Schoolwide Program. Title I funding is based on the percentage of students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals. These federal funds provide additional resources to help all students succeed academically.
At BMMS, Title I funds support:
- Supplemental academic programs and instructional resources
- Professional learning for teachers and staff
- Family engagement activities and resources that strengthen the home-school partnership

Parent and Family Engagement Policy
Bennett's Mill Middle School operates a schoolwide Title I program to support high-quality instruction and improve student achievement.
This webpage serves as the Bennett's Mill Middle School Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy and meets the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), Section 1116.
Students are most successful when families and schools work together. We are committed to building strong partnerships that support student learning and success.
Working Together
Families help review and revise this policy each year through the Annual Title I Meeting, surveys, family events, and ongoing feedback. Family input is used to update this policy, the Family Partnership Promise, and the use of Title I family engagement funds.
Family Voice
Families are encouraged to:
- Contact Tina Moore, Family Liaison, by phone, email, or appointment.
- Attend family workshops, meetings, and events.
- Complete surveys and share feedback.
- Meet with teachers or school staff.
- Participate in small-group or one-on-one conversations.
Meetings may be offered at different times and in person or virtually whenever possible to meet families' needs.
Communication
Strong family partnerships begin with regular, two-way communication.
Families receive school and Title I information through:
- ParentSquare
- The BMMS website
- The Bronco Brief
- School social media
- Phone calls and conferences
Information is provided in English and Spanish whenever possible.
School Improvement
Families help improve our school by providing input on the School Improvement Plan and family engagement activities. If families are not satisfied with the School Improvement Plan, their comments will be shared with the Fayette County Board of Education as required by ESSA.
Building Staff Capacity
We provide professional learning so staff can:
- Build positive relationships with families.
- Communicate effectively.
- Partner with families as equal partners in their child's education.
- Strengthen connections between home and school.
Title I Family Engagement Funds
Title I funds help improve student achievement and strengthen partnerships between home and school. Funds may be used to:
- Provide additional instructional support
- Reduce class sizes and increase learning opportunities
- Support family engagement activities
- Provide learning resources for families
When possible, Title I funds may be used to reduce barriers to participation, such as transportation or child care. Families are invited to provide input on how Title I family engagement funds are used.
Annual Title I Meeting
Each fall, before November 1, all families are invited to attend the Annual Title I Meeting to learn about:
- The Title I program
- Parents' rights under Title I
- This Parent and Family Engagement Policy
- The Family Partnership Promise (School-Family Compact)
- The School Improvement Plan
- How Title I funds support students and families
Families are encouraged to ask questions and share ideas.
School-Family Compact (Family Partnership Promise)
Each year, families, students, and school staff review and update the Family Partnership Promise. The promise explains how we will work together to support student learning. It is shared during parent-teacher conferences and throughout the school year.

We partner with businesses and community organizations to:
- Support student learning
- Connect families with resources

Accessibility
We are committed to making family engagement accessible for everyone.
We will:
- Provide information in accessible formats that support translation and meet ADA accessibility standards.
- Provide reasonable accommodations or alternative formats upon request.
- Remove barriers so all families can participate.

Family Partnership Promise
This document serves as the Bennett's Mill Middle School Title I School-Family Compact. It explains how families, students, and school staff share responsibility for improving student achievement. Families help develop this compact each year. It is reviewed annually and discussed during parent-teacher conferences.
The School-Family Compact supports the goals in the School Improvement Plan and outlines how the school, families, and students will work together to improve student achievement.

- Help every student build strong reading, writing, math, and thinking skills.

Parents' Right to Know
Parents' Right to Know
Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), parents and guardians have the right to request information about the professional qualifications of their child's teachers and paraprofessionals.
You may request information about whether your child's teacher:
- Meets Georgia certification and licensing requirements.
- Is teaching under emergency or provisional certification.
- Is teaching in the subject area in which they are certified.
You may also request information about:
- The qualifications of any paraprofessional who works with your child.
- Student assessments and your child's academic progress.
