ONE: Increase achievement for all students as measured by

GOALS

1. The percentage of students for each Milestones exam who earn a proficient (3) or distinguished (4) rating.
2. Each summative assessment and/or Interim Assessment standards analysis compared to the previous PLC data.
3. An increase in percent growth of student screener data in math and ELA reading comprehension.

ACTIONS

1. Core content teachers will collaborate through PLC (professional learning communities) to discuss the progress of student achievement and growth, documented using a school-wide template.
2. MTSS Specialist and Title 1 contact will analyze student performance data to inform instructional practices and collaborate with teachers to facilitate the delivery of appropriate interventions that support the achievement of students.
3. Provide professional learning to staff to cultivate and model effective and research-based Tier 1 instructional best practices with an emphasis on the Fayette 5 and integrating content-specific literacy practices, including both reading and writing, into instructional units across all subject areas.
4. Teachers will collaborate with Title 1 teachers/certified professionals/MTSS Specialist and Title 1 contact to deliver differentiated instruction and flexible grouping to support student growth and achievement.
5. The Title 1 contact and Title 1 Parent Liaison will provide parent workshops and family engagement opportunities to address student needs and communicate best practices that are grade-level and content specific.
6. Provide opportunities for academic support through programs including Summer Bronco Academy and Saturday School as well as enrichment opportunities throughout the school day to enhance academic skills that emphasize collaboration, communication, research, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

Georgia Milestone achievement level of 3’s and 4’s in Math, ELA, Algebra 1, Physical Science, and GA Studies will increase by 3%

Unit summative assessments and/or Interim Assessment assessment standards analysis will improve compared to previous year’s data.

Screener percent growth data in Math and ELA reading comprehension will increase by 8% from Fall to Spring benchmark results

TWO: Increase the number of BMMS students reading at or above grade level.

ACTIONS

1. Use Professional Learning Community time to increase education around instructional strategies for vocabulary and close reading instruction, thereby increasing the number of methods that teachers use to directly instruct reading.
2. Increase the accuracy of the reading screener data by introducing a school-wide standardized script and procedure for administration, including a signed student acknowledgement of the screener’s purpose.
3. In an attempt to increase accurate placement, use at least two data points to schedule students into a reading support class.
4. When a student does not meet progress goals in their reading support class, the student will receive further targeted instruction.
5. Continue Accelerated Reader quarterly grade level recognition to motivate students to read whole texts, but disengage AR from gradebooks in order to increase authenticity of student engagement.
6. Teachers of all classes and parents will have access to Lexile and screener measures for their students for the purpose of scaffolding reading resources and differentiated support.
7. Introduce and continue programs to support a healthy reading culture including a book fair, media center visits, BBN news book reviews, and other systems that reinforce the idea that reading is a positive choice for both education and personal development.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

Student Lexile growth will increase to on or above grade level (Milestone)

Number of students above the 40% Percentile in STAR reading will increase

Students will check out over 17,000 books from our media center

Number of teachers with access to accurate data about student reading ability will increase by 80%

THREE: Maintain a positive school climate and culture by focusing on supporting students, staff, and families.

ACTIONS

1. Create and provide a digital parent resource center for parents to access resources, workshops, and materials to enhance student learning.
2. Provide in-person and virtual parent-teacher conferences.
3. Continue to foster strong family and community engagement by providing meaningful opportunities for parents to volunteer and actively participate in school activities.
4. Continue PBIS matrix, schoolwide discipline plan, redelivery of consistent behavioral expectations.
5. Provide new families with the Welcome Bronco packet with pertinent information for student success.
6. Continue implementing the PBIS framework, schoolwide discipline plan, and consistent redelivery of behavioral expectations while celebrating student successes and positive behaviors to foster a safe, respectful, and supportive school culture.
7. Increase positive communications from staff to parents and students.
8. Establish community partnerships with local businesses to enhance and support a positive school culture.
